HOW TO USE THIS CALCULATOR

POINTS TO NOTE – Please read!

  1. N.B. For the amounts that you will enter, please ensure that they ALL reflect how often you are paid, e.g., weekly OR fortnightly OR monthly. Thus, if the earnings you enter are what you receive on a weekly basis, then the deductions you enter must be those that are done on a weekly basis.
  2. Only enter information in the cells according to the instructions below.
  3. To delete information from a cell, double click the cell and use the backspace button to remove unwanted information.
  4. If you make a mistake, e.g., you edited a cell that you should not have, just refresh the page to start over.
  5. If you are using a mobile device, you may have to double click the cells for your keyboard to come up and allow you to enter information in the cells.

STEP 1

  • Input how often you are paid: WEEKLY, FORTNIGHTLY or MONTHLY.
  • Input your gross basic pay in the “Amount” column (the purple cell).
  • In the column under “Basic Pay”, name your other taxable income (e.g., overtime, uniform allowance, bonus/incentive, etc.) and input the corresponding gross amount in the adjacent blue cell (in the “Amount” column).
  • In the column under “Basic Pay”, name your non-taxable income (e.g., taxi allowance, etc.) and input the corresponding gross amount in the adjacent yellow cell (in the “Amount” column).

STEP 2

  • If applicable to you, input your gross deduction for ESOP NON-TAXABLE (not all Employee Stock Ownership Plans are non-taxable, so check with your Payroll department).
  • Input all other gross deductions (e.g., Union Dues, Payments to Credit Union, Group Health Insurance, etc.). N.B. In the “Item” column, input a name for the deduction and in the “Amount” column, input the monetary amount for that particular deduction.

UNLESS absolutely necessary, please:

  • DO NOT edit rates (the orange cells).
  • DO NOT edit Income Threshold (green cell).
  • DO NOT edit NIS Wage Ceiling (red cell).
  • DO NOT enter anything in the “Amount” column for the following: Pension, NIS, NHT, PAYE, Education Tax. They will calculate automatically if you follow the instructions above.

View your net pay. Does it match up with you pay slip?
